SKS Finna brings material together
By default, your basic search is targeted at the following material:
- SKS library material in Helka
- SKS digitised material in Doria
- SKS open-access publications
By using the tabs on the search results page, you can access other material included in the service:
- international e-material (EDS and PCI).
If you want to select target material before conducting a search, use the “Search functions” menu at the top.
Renew loans, place holds,
make storage requests
Log in with your Helka library card number and PIN code.
You can renew your loans from Helka libraries if the items are not reserved by other patrons.
You can request for material that is currently checked out or on hold.
Using the online Helka database, you can see if the item you would like is in the open shelf collection or in the closed stacks. You can obtain material from the closed stacks by making a call slip request.
You can pay Helka library fines and fees online.
Search for scholarly
SKS Finna contains two centralized indexes of international e-material: Discovery (EDS) and Primo (PCI).
The EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) combines Anthropology Plus, eHRAF World Cultures, JSTOR and MLA International Bibliography with Full Text in a single search.
Primo Central Index (PCI) includes JSTOR and Encyclopaedia Britannica.
In addition, both search services encompass multiple scholarly publishing platforms and a plenitude of records from open-access directories and repositories.
